As part of one of the UK’s largest independent providers of mental health care, our client which is based in Coventry is a brand new 56 Bedded locked Service for Women; this will undoubtedly be an exciting place to develop your career. The hospital offers a range of inpatient services, to include a Personality Disorder Ward, a Psychiatric Intensive Care ward, a Locked Rehabilitation ward and 7 transitional Flatlets. You’ll be joining a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, with an absolute focus on delivering superior patient care through a range of proven models of treatment.

The successful candidates will support the occupational therapists in delivering, a high standard of evidenced based OT interventions. Knowledge of the Recovery Approaches and Model of Human Occupation is desirable, whilst experience of working with female service users in a secure environment would be advantageous. The individuals will be expected to assist the service users to meet his or her needs via the implementation of a therapeutic activity program. Will co-operate with all departments in ensuring a safe environment is maintained for all service users. The individual will assist the Occupational Therapists in ensuring that the department meets all the identified needs and problems of the service users. To be actively involved in assisting in the planning and implementation of Recovery and therapeutic activities programs working in an autonomous way and when required undertake duties delegated by the Senior Occupational Therapist to ensure the efficient running of the department. Key skills required: include awareness of boundary setting, an understanding of risk management and a positive can do attitude and experience of working with Females in inpatient mental health settings..

We will provide clinical supervision by the Occupational Therapists and training opportunities to support professional development.
