Audit & Accounts Manager required


Salary of up to £45,000 per annum plus benefits

An opportunity has arisen within a well known accountancy practice for an experienced, qualified accountant with excellent and proven financial reporting and audit skills. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to enrol on a management development programme with a view to progressing to a senior management role within the business.

The Audit & Accounts Manager will be involved in providing audit, accounting and business advice to a diverse and interesting portfolio of clients in various business sectors including Charities. You will be responsible for the execution of the firm`s risk based audit approach and leading an audit team during the fieldwork. In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide a variety of non-audit business services to a dedicated and growing portfolio of clients to include accounts, tax and business advice.

Reporting into the Directors of this expanding practice, you will have direct responsibility for a portfolio of clients to include:-

  • Delivery of high quality audit and non-audit services, coordinating team members in delivery of same.
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP (including FRS 102) and International Auditing Standards (UK and Ireland), to include New Charity SORP.
  • Achieve department and individual performance objectives.
  • Manage administration of client, including budgets, WIP and timely billing. ? Maintain the highest technical and professional standards
  • Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks.
  • Providing additional help and guidance to clients on a consultancy basis.
  • Delivering results and managing client expectations.
  • Identifying ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value.
  • Monitor and control staff working on the portfolio.
  • Supervise and coach, train and develop staff to develop their knowledge.
  • Be seen as a role model for department professionals.
  • Assist department Senior Manager in carrying out various practice management activities e.g. resourcing, training etc.
  • Career progression through professional development and external training in readiness for Senior Manager Role.

Requirements of the role to include -

  • Professional accounting qualification ICAEW/ACCA.
  • Up to 6 years of post-qualification experience
  • Proven and strong financial reporting and technical knowledge including consolidation and group reporting.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills
