Manpower Plymouth is working with a housing association based in Plymouth that is looking for a repairs and maintenance operative to undertake reactive and planned maintenance of the properties within their business. Working closely with the Home Office, your new company helps with the housing of asylum seekers in the area and with your help, the properties can be maintained at the current high standard.

This is a permanent, full time role, suitable for any handymen or handy-women out there who have skills within a variety of areas.

About the Job:
Your job will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week and on a daily basis you will be reporting into the Head of Property. This job will suit a self-motivated, independent worker who will accept jobs as they come in on the work mobile and go to the relevant site or house and undertake any repair/installation work as necessary.

The properties you will be working with are mainly residential and you will be able to carry out reactive and planned maintenance of said properties. Such maintenance will include anything from plumbing, carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating and groundwork.

About the ideal candidate:
We are looking to speak to experienced handy men or women who have proven experience in a similar role and are comfortable to work independently. You will have a strong ability to communicate and liaise closely with line managers, team managers and field based staff. It would also be beneficial if you are familiar with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Access, Excel & PowerPoint as this will help you manage your work load and keep up to date with job requirements. No specific qualifications are required but your CV or application will demonstrate how you have been a similar role in the past.

Additional Information:
Salary : £21,000 + £4,000 vehicle allowance + Mileage
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00
