A leading global manufacturer of state of the art and technically complex electro-mechanical systems are currently looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Sub-Contracts Manager to join their large procurement team.

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the management of Sub-Contract Suppliers and the position requires an individual who understands subcontract management and production environments but is not too operational/production orientated themselves.

The Procurement Sub-Contract Manager will source suppliers from the UK & internationally and will manage the supplier relationship through the complete contract life, which might be to the end of a specific project bid or through to the completion of a major project.

The role will require close engagement with your suppliers with frequent communication, onsite visits and monitoring of performance metrics.

As Procurement Sub-Contracts Manager you will ensure supplier deliverables are executed to ensure timely delivery against program time schedules, cost and against quality and delivery standards.

Your role will manage Sub-Contract Supplier sourcing and management across a range of company projects and locally within the business you will support Bid teams (bid managers, product managers, project managers) in the creation of cost effective bids to win the projects.

You will be the sole point of communication between the business/project teams and your suppliers throughout the whole lifecycle of any project and will provide regular communication and reports to stakeholders, managers and project management on supplier on-time delivery progress or provide early advisement of any risk to on-time delivery.

Your new role will perform regular supplier progress reports and you will create monthly measurement of supplier metrics and enforce contractual agreements where key performance indicators (KPI's) are not being met.

Experience Required:
Strong and demonstrable experience working in a Procurement Sub-Contracts Manager role or with a role that has similar responsibilities.

Experience working on large scale and highly technical and complex projects and managing supplier relationships and performance throughout the whole lifecycle of any given project.

Strong experience sourcing, negotiating and drafting contracts to bring on board new sub-contract and/or production suppliers or to amend/update contracts with existing suppliers as required to meet project demands.

Strong knowledge and practical experience in turning operational requirements into commercial deliverables and agreements with your suppliers.

Outstanding communication skills with the ability to naturally engage and communicate effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, management and wider project teams.

An organised and effective approach needs to be demonstrated in being able to manage suppliers against project mile stones and ensure on-time delivery at all times.

Strong supplier relationship management and performance management skills is essential.

Desirable experience will be a proven track record of working cooperatively with engineering and R&T teams.
