This is amazing venue offers a variety of indoor and outdoor events spaces and restaurant for a variety of events including drinks receptions, dinners or breakfast events and is steeped in history!

The Role
This incredible creative events venue is seeking an ambitious, creative individual with a passion for sales and event management. Reporting to the Head of Events, the Events Sales Manager will maximise the potential revenue from the events spaces by developing and implementing a robust sales and marketing strategy while providing excellent client services.

Job Purpose:
Working in collaboration with the Head of Events to develop, plan and implement a sales and marketing strategy for all event spaces ensuring sales targets are achieved or exceeded.
Ensure the venues outstanding reputation for event delivery and exceptional client relationship management is maintained.

Sales and Marketing

- Actively market as a first class venue to hire by establishing and developing relationships with clients, industry professionals, event agencies and corporates to maximise sales and income ensuring targets within business plans are achieved and exceeded.
- Target event sales growth through leveraging on and extending current client partnerships, developing new relationships and accounts across the corporate, private and venue led sectors in events catering.
- Research and generate potential venue hire clients, represent the venues at conferences and networking events to maximise income opportunities and increase our reputation as a go to venue.
- Develop and promote both brands in each venue hire by selling the unique event experience.
- Manage business appraisal processes to include tenders for new event opportunities across all spaces, promoting offers and leading on new business development.
- Increase the value of each hire by proactively seeking to upsell occupancy, equipment and catering from the venues preferred suppliers.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure event can be hosted in line with the Venue Hire Terms and Conditions and in particular with the Galleries’ Exhibitions and Events teams regarding layout and allowances in each Gallery space dependent on the Exhibition needs.
- Liaise directly with the restaurant to create a joint marketing strategy and maximise income through use of this space in conjunction with the other venue and upselling where possible.
- Be in attendance at an event if there is a customer service/sales reason to do so.
- Agree and set budgets, forecast and sales targets with the Head of Events.
- Build and maintain a sales campaign pipeline with accurate event budget forecasting.
- Monthly reporting on sales and approaches made to prospective clients and monitor performance against targets.
- Ensure all relevant data relating to Gallery Hire, clients and enquiries are recorded on the CRM database / or equivalent internal tracking tools and calendars to enable monitoring progress against targets.
- Work closely with the press and marketing departments, to ensure the venue brand is effectively and continuously marketed for events via the mediums of website, social media etc.
- Ensure effective and proactive communication with Events Delivery team to manage the sales and booking of events including dealing with enquiries, meeting clients, following up with potential clients to ensure enquires are converted into sales.

Person Specification

- Proven track record in developing and delivering sales and marketing strategies and proven experience in achieving and exceeding targets and generating income from events.
- Advanced presentation, negotiating and interpersonal skills necessary for effective sales and marketing of events.
- Excellent networking skills and solid experience in generating leads and the ability to secure new business.
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, experience dealing with varied internal and external stakeholders and a wide range of people in both business and social contexts.
- Ability to manage budgets and schedules as well as financial, management reporting and analysis.
- Advanced organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise a busy and demanding work load.
- Ability to work unsociable hours when required, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
