Looking to recruit a JNR Sous Chef for a busy Hotel in Leicestershire must be passionate about food and have experiasnce of working in busy kitchens.

There are meals on duty, free membership of gym, uniform provided with safety shoes, staff discounts on food and drink (20%)

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE/RESPONISIBILITIES:

  • To report for duty, punctually, wearing correct uniform
  • To adhere to dress, equipment and personal hygiene standards at all times
  • To check rota and be flexible to work when requested
  • To observe all procedures laid out in the companys standards
  • To ensure the food is prepared to the correct standard
  • To carry out any reasonable duties as required by the demands of the business and management
  • To ensure communication is kept between all kitchen sections
  • To monitor the quality and presentation of dishes so that only those which meet the highest standards are served to customers
  • To observe the company’s fire plan and health and saftey policy
  • To observe the rules and procedures of the company
  • To learn and retain specific specifications and menu items to ensure food quality is met
  • To organise the commis chefs so they are aware of their job roles for the shift
  • To ensure the kitchen porters are working effectively and efficiently
  • To ensure the company’s food GP is met and reduce wastage
  • To back up or step up to assist the Head Chef and Sous Cheff in the running of the kitchen
  • To deputise for the Head or Sous Chef when either is on holiday/days off etc
  • To attend the daily meetings (if required) and any company training (as required)
