Our client a National Company with an excellent reputation is looking to hire an experienced Vehicle Workshop Supervisor in Brighton, Sussex. The role will be supervising 6 automotive technicians who will be working on a variety of vehicles including Cars, LCV's, HGV's & Plant Machinery.
Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm.
Basic Salary: £30,978 + Bonus (£34,075 OTE)
Key Purpose Of Role:
Role is responsible to the Garage Service Manager (GSM) for the cost effective maintenance of vehicles; the supervision, discipline (in line with company policy), welfare, health and safety of people within the workshop.
The successful candidate will not be working on the vehicles themselves however they will be very hands-on controlling the workshop and dealing with customers., reporting to the Area Service Manager. Automotive supervisory experience is required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Previous experience in carrying out all classes of skilled work, involving the inspection, maintenance, complete overhaul of vehicles and the use of mechanical aids, including mechanical and electrical fault diagnostic equipment.
Previous experience of performing quality control checks on MOT's to satisfy the requirements of the Department of Transport and initiating any required corrective action.
Proven track record of running a workshop on a day-to-day basis, including ensuring that all workshop plant, equipment and safety guards are maintained and used as recommended in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act and all certification, statutory forms and registers comply with Health and Safety at Work Act and Factories Directorate requirements.
Ability to carry out vehicle accident estimates.
