With its leading edge technology, this highly innovative Midlands based manufacturing / engineering business now requires an E-Commerce Manager to be responsible for the development and rollout of the e-commerce platform across the UK sales units, with a view to driving sales and improving site content and functionality.

The Role:

Reporting to Business Development Director, as the E-Commerce Manager the role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • developing the online webshop including liaising with Product Managers, the wider IT function, Sales & Marketing, Operations and Customer Service to ensure a cohesive and aligned online offering for customers
  • working closely with the Sales teams develop detailed plans and targets for e-commerce adoption in the UK, including internal and customer on-boarding activities such as marketing materials and sales activities
  • supporting the Sales and IT teams with customer on-boarding
  • creating and maintaining the content on the webshop reflecting the aims and strategies of the participating sales units and customer sales opportunities
  • ensuring that the sales units have clear and ongoing e-commerce sales and marketing strategies
  • liaising with both Marketing and the Sales teams to develop and run promotions
  • optimising search results based on both google analytics insight and product/marketing business needs
  • training the Customer Service teams and Sales teams on webshop customer advantages and building internal targeting and rewards campaigns
  • liaising with IT team to ensure that the webshop functionality and capability reflects business requirements
  • in the first instance, providing customer support in an efficient and timely manner to resolution
  • maintaining and reporting relevant webshop KPIs

The Candidate:

Ideally of graduate standard, preferably from within a marketing, business or commercial based discipline, candidates will also ideally have achieved or be working towards their further professional marketing qualifications.

In addition, for this customer focused role, candidates should be willing to demonstrate that they have:

  • at least 5 years’ marketing work experience, from either within industry or a dedicated marketing/ digital marketing team/ agency role
  • an excellent understanding of e-commerce tools and solutions and implementing them both internally and externally
  • prior experience of successfully developing and launching e-commerce platforms
  • experience of key sales support technologies such as CRM, BI and ERP systems
  • experience of using design software, CMS and email marketing software

Candidates should also:

  • have excellent IT skills with a good understanding of general PC packages, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • have excellent attention to detail
  • have the ability to clearly prioritise workloads and tasks and be used to multi-tasking
  • have excellent communication skills and can be flexible, creative and thrive in a challenging environment
  • be an organised and pro-active individual, who demonstrates a positive and professional attitude
  • be able to work as part of a team or under their own initiative to meet required targets and deadlines
  • have excellent planning and project management skills
