Innovation Chef/ Concept Development Chef - Desserts and Patisserie

Salary: Up to £38,000 plus benefits dependent on experience

Location: Greater Manchester

Are you an experienced Development Chef within Patisserie and Desserts? Do you have aspirations to grow your career within an innovative business with an enviable and creative product range? If so please read on for this exciting opportunity!

The business operate within the bakery sector, with an NPD team 35 strong offering a great deal of innovation and creativity within their range of 300 products. They have a multimillion turnover business, dealing with the most prestige and demanding retailers. Due to expansion of the NPD team, the business are now looking for a creative and dynamic Development Chef to lead the development of a major category within their product range.

As Development Chef you will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including delivering the ideation, product concepts and NPD for your category:

  • Deliver key innovation concepts
  • Product reformulations to include recipe improvements
  • Ensuring product innovation, customer needs and understanding are at the core of everything you do
  • Research and investigate markets in advance of customer briefs
  • Adherence to NPD critical path on both delivery and quality
  • Ensuring insight from the internal creative team is translated into product concepts for the customer.

Successful candidates:

  • You will have strong experience as a Development Chef or similar role with a focus on desserts and patisserie
  • You are creative and enthusiastic, love blue sky innovation and developing new and exciting concepts
  • You will have experience using your creative flair to innovate a variety of dessert and patisserie products with flair
  • You will have a great personality - down to earth, creative and enthusiastic, willing to get stuck in with the rest of the team and able to manage expectations
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety standards
