Our client, a busy housing organisation based in Watford are looking for a Welfare Reform Income Advisor. You will need to have previous experience within welfare benefits, income or housing management. To be the first point of contact for tenancies held by Universal credit claimants, understand pre-tenancy assessments for new/transferring tenants affected by Welfare Reform and be responsible as directed for arrears recovery for all tenants/ groups of tenants affected by a particular Welform Reform issue.
You will need to attend and facilitate local meetings and joint working with key partners and stakeholders, including housing benefits teams, Citizens advice on general welfare reform issues and the provision of Universal support and to liaise with internal teams as appropriate. Communication is a key role as you will be communicating with tenants through meetings, letters, visits, internal publications and website, and community events.
You as a person will need to easily engage with a variety of people from all levels within the business, be flexible and very self motivated. Excellent attention to detail, be able to work to strict deadlines and carefully plan their own work.
