Stock Control Analyst
Our client, a multi-award winning, market leading SME supplies a range of quality branded products and services to its predominantly Scottish, but UK wide client base. A genuine employer of choice, this well established, profitable and growing c£5m turnover, 50 employee family owned business has a reputation for exceptional customer service and loyalty.
The effective management of such growth necessitates the strengthening of the existing team. As such the business seeks to recruit a Stock Control Analyst in an exciting, newly created role.
The ideal profile would probably, but not definitively, be a finance/business graduate with a couple of years' experience acquired in a finance/operational/commercial/analytical type role now looking to progress their career. Stock experience would be great, but about the role...
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller in this operational finance focused role you will provide control over stock ordering, movements and reporting, driving efficiencies and minimising waste.
More specifically you will...
- Work closely with senior management to learn and develop robust and commercial Stock Ordering techniques.
- Conduct regular stock takes and spot checks ensuring integrity of the stock holding.
- Drive continuous improvements regarding stock controls and processes.
- Prepare insightful reports and analysis highlighting trends, opportunities and risks.
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller and the finance team preparing appropriate monthly profit & loss and balance sheet schedules and reconciliations.
We're looking for someone with strong numeracy and IT skills, an individual with an ownership mentality, a problem-solving, self-starter not afraid to challenge to get to the bottom of things.
We also want someone with a positive attitude who will thrive in a fast-paced working environment - it wouldn't work otherwise.
In return, support will be provided to get you up to speed operationally and to give you the platform to deliver and make a difference. And if you are a studier - perhaps AAT or CIMA or a Business Management qualification - then study support will be provided where appropriate.
The successful candidate will buy into the values and vision of the business and possess the personal traits to succeed in this outstanding company, a company which treats in customers, employees and suppliers with genuine respect. But you are also expected to have fun too!
