Senior Buyer / Supply Chain Manager - Gatwick - £50-55,000 DOE

Our client is an established Distributor of commercial components to the Industrial Engineering Industry and they have an immediate job vacancy for an experience Senior Buyer / Supply Chain Manager to join their established team located in Crawley near to Gatwick.

Brief Duties

  • Purchasing (Stock)
    • Managing inventory levels
    • Generation of PO's
    • Negotiate prices and payments terms as suitable
    • Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries
    • Maintain accurate records on computer system
    • Work closely with the accounts team resolving any invoicing issues
  • Purchasing (Non Stock)
    • Work closely with the Technical Director in sourcing of products to fulfill customers needs
    • Ongoing awareness of pricing and sourcing new suppliers as necessary
  • Recording accurate price lists of Excel spreadsheets for use by sales team
  • Managing stock levels
  • Setting up Inventory and Purchasing KPI's
  • Maintain a library of product literature
  • Maintain supplier database
  • Maintain goods received notes to ensure items received are correct and manage accordingly
  • Compiling monthly product sales reports
  • Conducting stock checks as required

Skills and Experience

  • Previous purchasing experience - Preferably in a technical environment
  • Experience in managing a small buying team
  • Experience of managing a warehouse team
  • Experience of setting up supplier agreements, stock return policies etc
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills using all mediums both internal and external
  • Willingness and ability to learn about an extensive range of products
  • Dedication to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction at all times
  • Ability to nurture and develop strong supplier relationships
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy
  • Full UK car driving licence
  • Computer literate to include Excel, Word etc
  • Willingness to work closely with inter departmental teams to assist them in providing an excellent level of customer service


£45-55,000 per annum D.O.E.

Standard working hours Mon - Fri 09.00 - 17.45
