We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Head Chef at this prestigious city centre restaurant and private dining venue in Cardiff.
We are looking for serious motivated head chef that wants to get to the top of his/her profession. We are currently a 2 rosette restaurant and the new head chef has to share the companies ambition of pushing and obtaining Rosette #3 and then beyond.
To be successful for the role of Head Chef, a Michelin and High Rosette background is essential at minimum Sous Chef Level.
This iconic establishment has 2 AA Rosettes and is listed in the Michelin guide and is famed within the region.
From the moment you walk in to the restaurant, customers know they’re in for a culinary experience that is set within a romantic gothic masterpiece in a grand traditional Grade 1 listed building.
The cooking is distinctly modern and pushes the limits of Welsh culinary standards. The current Head Chef has designed some of the most exquisite menus in Wales. They specialise in wine and food matching which is promoted heavily and backed up with numerous monthly dinner, lunch and winemaker visits.

As Head Chef you will head a team 5 and the restaurant has a front of house team of 5, with office support of a further 2 people. Applicants must enjoy working in a team environment, reporting to the owners who both work directly in the business.
The restaurant has up to 60 covers for fine dining and up to 80 people for corporate events and is open 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner plus Sunday lunch in the autumn/winter period.
The restaurant is famed not only for its food but also its wine list, which is considered to be one of the finest in the business and recently got listed in the top 322 wine lists in the world by The Fine Wine Magazine (equivalent to 3 Michelin stars)

There is a salary on offer of £40,000 per annum, plus bonus package and tronc share.

The owners of the business own a large 2 bedroom flat within walking distance of the restaurant and this can be made available for an agreed period to aid any potential relocation.
