Days based role.

Reed’s Midlands Engineering team are once again looking for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for a Nottinghamshire based raw materials manufacturing company due to significant business growth. With a demanding schedule ahead, the company are planning to add to their ranks across a number of roles and the focus of the Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer who will lead the shift in from Reactive Maintenance to a much more Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) ethos.

The Role.

Working on a day shift, with varying start/finish times and also Saturday work, the successful Engineer will be working closely with other Maintenance, Production, Quality and Operations staff with the overall aim to come away from Reactive Maintenance and set up a Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule. The business have this aim to improve Production and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

This role will be both hands on and hands off. With the hands on work including:

PPM and Reactive Maintenance on Electrical and Mechanical manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, cranes, conveyors, gearboxes, mixers and motors.

There could also be vehicle maintenance involved with this.

The more hands off aspect of the role will include:

Championing Health and Safety throughout the business and ensure all personnel on site adhere to the regulations.

Being responsible for creating a PPM schedule.

Management of Maintenance contractors and scheduling workload.

The Person.

This role would be suiting to someone that has a Maintenance background, who has or is looking for management/supervisory experience, and someone who has exposure to a structured Maintenance schedule as this is what the company are looking to implement.

The successful candidate will also be someone who is strong minded and can influence other stakeholders and teams within the business, to ensure that Maintenance is carried out when it needs to be.

Although the candidate doesn’t need to have a recognised Health and Safety qualification, it would be beneficial if they have a good understanding of this and can confidently promote this within the business.

As well as bringing skills to the position, the candidate will also have to bring a degree of flexibility to the role as start/finish times may change depending on the needs of the business. As a home/work life balance is important. The company have advised if you do finish late and work at the weekend, they will offer time back during the week.
