About the SEN Teacher Role
As a SEN Teacher you will be responsible for creating or advising on schemes of work, which satisfy the requirements of the National Curriculum, ensuring pupil progress is recorded on assessment database each term and for delivering most effective and efficient use of teaching assistants to support pupil learning. Other activities will include, promoting the general progress and well-being of individual pupils and of any class or group of pupils assigned, provide guidance and advice to pupils on educational and social matters and on their further education and future careers.
This is a vibrant ASD provision that has great at communicating with the pupils and families with flexibility in the approaches to meet pupils individual needs whatever that may be.
With the schools Autism friendly approach this means the school try to see things from an Autism perspective in order to help pupils learn the skills and understanding that they need.
The class sizes are usually between 6-11 pupils with a high staffing ratio in order to best address the needs of the pupils.
