Based at either the Highfields Sports Ground or the River Sports Ground this is a full time, permanent role with the award winning sports grounds team. Main duties will include assisting with the maintenance of a wide range of sports grounds areas to a high standard including marking out playing surfaces and maintaining turf and artificial surfaces. Other duties will include the preparation, care and maintenance of amenity landscapes within University grounds including planting perennials, shrubs, etc.
Candidates should be highly motivated, professional and be able to work with minimal supervision. You will be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in amenity horticulture, or a related discipline or have substantial relevant experience and have the ability to operate a wide range of powered machinery including tractors and other equipment used in grounds maintenance. Due to the frequency with which the post holder will drive between university sites a full current driving licence is essential for this role unless disability precludes this.
Hours of work are 36.25 per week to be worked mainly Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 4.00pm with flexibility to work occasional weekends as required.
