Sport & Active Leisure Assessor/Trainer (NVQ) - Crawley areas

Babcock is one of the UK’s largest training providers offering government funded Apprenticeships and providing work-based learning in the Active Leisure Industry.

We are looking to expand our Work-Based Learning team and are seeking a suitable candidate to become an Active Leisure Trainer/Assessor and join our team to cover part of the Crawley areas, ideal candidate location would be in in and around the Crawley areas

The position is a full-time, permanent role of 35 hours per week. This is a field based role and would consist of travelling to various Active Leisure establishments in the Ashford area in order to assess and coach learners through their Active Leisure NVQ/QCF qualifications. You’ll therefore need to live somewhere easily accessible to this region and be prepared to travel within it using your own car.

You will be required to take a caseload of approximately 40 learners with whom you will have regular meetings to support them through the qualification process. This will involve regular visits to the learners’ place of employment as well as supporting them remotely.

Our ideal candidate will have a background in the Sport & Fitness industry, ideally working within a gym or personal training setting to a supervisory or managerial level, with experience gained in the last three years. In order to deliver our Active Leisure Qualifications, you must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Gym Instructor award as a minimum and have GCSE’s in Maths and English (or equivalent).

All Leisure or Fitness professionals (with hands on experience) would make ideal candidates, including those that have experience of work based learning.

We encourage applications from Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, Deputy or Centre Managers or candidates who are already qualified A1 assessors who experts in their field with strong/ proven management/ assessor experience.The role is open to both Qualified and Unqualified Assessors.

A DBS (formerly CRB) check prior to commencement of role will be required.
