Your Profile

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Patent Attorney with a Biotechnology/Biochemistry degree background to join a Tier 1 firm. You must be of graduate calibre (first class honours degree) ideally secured from a Russell Group University looking to secure a trainee position in the IP profession, with a background in Biotechnology. Your A-Level subjects should include at least two science subjects. You must also be at a PhD level in your chosen field as this firm requires a post-graduate qualification too. You should have a sharp eye for detail and be exceptionally confident at communicating in writing and orally to people at all levels. Your academic pedigree should also be impressive with a minimum of As and Bs at A-Level, whilst understanding the commitment required to pass professional examinations to qualify as a Patent Attorney. Essentially, you must be articulate, confident and commercially savvy with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Applications from post-foundation level technical assistants will also be considered, if you have current IP experience in the Biotechnology/Biochemistry field.

The Role

You'll be joining a thriving team of talented Patent Attorneys in London who manage an incredibly broad range of UK and International clients . Training for full qualification as a Patent Attorney will be provided through a fantastically supportive internal training structure. You'll gain first-hand experience of direct drafting and prosecution, as well as exposure to some truly pioneering new technology within the Life Sciences sector. Reporting in at Partner level you'll learn on the job, and confidently build on the skill sets required to be a top level Patent Attorney.
