Work Relief Charity Recruitment is recruiting for one of London’s most prolific homeless charities is looking to recruit a Resettlement Support Worker for their Stockwell housing project.

Our client specialises in the provision of support, guidance and housing with homeless young people, and we are looking for a dedicated and innovative Resettlement Worker to join the team to provide a support service to vulnerable young people aged 16 - 25 with the aim to assist and support moving on into independent living.

£24,000 per annum

37.5 hours per week on shift rota that includes some evenings

Duties will include:

  • Take on a caseload of customers, with responsibility to promote a variety of move on options
  • Identify appropriate move on routes for all customers
  • Promote a variety of move on options in a variety of methods to customers including one to one contact, work shop sessions or drop-ins
  • Build up links and maintain contacts with external agencies
  • Develop and provide life-skills training to customers
  • Provide practical support and guidance to help customers move on positively from the service
  • Work closely with support workers to ensure that an effective resettlement service is provided to customers

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support professional with knowledge and understanding of resettlements / move ons and promoting independent living with young homeless people and providing structured support to vulnerable client groups. Ideally you will have experience in support work, housing, homelessness, family support, casework, outreach work or youth work.

Suitable candidates will have experience and/or knowledge in the following:

  • Experience of working with single homeless people and helping them move on to more independent accommodation
  • Knowledge of the move on resources available to the client group
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable people to achieve independent living
  • Have a clear understanding of why people become homeless, and the needs and challenges they face
