Ranson Group is a small group of property companies based in Canary Wharf, London E14 founded by entrepreneur Bola Ranson. Ranson UK is a commercial and residential estate agency. Saracen London Ltd specialises in managing and letting Serviced residential apartments. Bola Ranson also owns a substantial personal property portfolio and is a well respected, astute, highly knowledgeable and ambitious entrepreneur.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our busy and friendly team reporting to the Director on a weekly basis. The position involves all aspects of accounts to including maintaining the companies affairs on Xero (our company Accounting software), processing Landlord payment runs, paying suppliers and receiving tenant rents using Expert Agent (our internal web based property management software), analysing and reviewing portfolio income and expenditure using excel spreadsheets, reconciling the bank accounts and dealing with bank reconciliation, paying general suppliers and contractors. Preparing and gathering information on a quarterly basis for the external accountant. Preparing weekly performance reports for the Director.

You will report directly to the Director whilst also liaising with all staff members within the office. Tasks will include the following:

  • Taking control of the financial aspects of the business
  • Maintaining systems, schedules and spreadsheets
  • Preparing data and information for the external accountant
  • Liaising with staff, suppliers and contractors
  • Producing reports for the Director on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Maintaning Xero, the company accounting software on a daily/weekly basis
  • Analysing new business/property opportunities
  • Assisting the external Accountants with the preparation of the statutory accounts.

Candidate requirements

Previous bookkeeping and strong financial management experience is essential. A property related background would be useful. You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a large workload whilst maintaining organisation. You must be a good communicator both orally and in written form with great attention to detail. A persuasive and warm personality would be helpful. Naturally you must be good with numbers as you will be number crunching every day. You must be confident, friendly, and able to show that you can use your own initiative. You will also be highly computer literate and be able to multi task.
