Newlife Healthcare Recruitment are proud to be supporting a large, national client who provides support for thousands of people with learning and physical disabilities, brain injuries, autism and other needs throughout the UK.

They offer person centred care and support in a range of settings, and have experience of enabling people to move from a residential setting to a more independent supported living environment as their needs change. Their mission is to create an environment that promotes independence and positive outcomes to make a real difference to people’s lives.

With over 400 care homes and 20 rehabilitation centres across the country, they offer a range of specialist services such as supported living and outreach support, residential services, respite services, day services, brain injury rehabilitation and Intensive support services.

Vacancy:

We are looking to recruit a Registered Manager for our client’s service in Alton, Hampshire. The service is a small, detached house, which support 4 ladies that have a range of needs from learning disabilities, autistic tendencies, epilepsy, communication difficulties etc.

Residents are supported to make considered choices, encouraged to take part in activities in which they have an interest, be motivated each day and enjoy themselves. Support staff promote the use of Makaton and use person centered approaches to support each person to work towards their personal goals.

As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of care staff and to promote a person-centred approach in all aspects of the support offered.

You will develop the staff team enabling the individuals at the service to reach their full potential. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Registered Manager will work as part of a wider team of Registered Managers and will network well with colleagues. You will work with your team to ensure the highest standards of support are delivered in the service at all times.

As a Registered Manager, you will have experience in the following:

  • Care management within the learning disabilities sector
  • Excellent knowledge of care standards and regulations
  • Commercially aware and ideally some experience of managing budgets
  • Attending meetings with external bodies, families and service review meetings
  • Dealing with client referrals and assessments, service review meetings
  • Report writing
  • Oversee and writing of care plans
  • Leading and developing a team

Ideally our client is looking for a Registered Manager who has completed their Registered Managers award, or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or Children and Young People’s Services. If you have a strong management background, however, have not completed this qualification, and willing to complete it, our client can look to support you with this.
