** September start. English Teaching Assistant in a Wandsworth Secondary School

At Academics we have an exciting and innovative programme to take Non Graduates and Graduates to a teaching level status. We firmly believe in providing people with the opportunity to become teachers via a supportive school and high level training. Essentially once placed in a school, as a teaching assistant, you will be working towards three qualifications with the final one being 'Qualified Teacher and Learning Status' (QTLS). Over the two year period you will gradually build up your teaching time before achieving the final teaching qualification.

My outstanding Client Secondary School in the Wandsworth area is looking for several Teaching Assistants to work with students aged 11 to 16 years old ( Year 7 to 11 ). You will be working in the English Department alongside quality and experienced teachers. The successful candidates will work one to one and in small groups across the various year groups. Over the two year period you will begin to teach classes for the experience and also to satisfy the criteria in terms of the hours required to achieve the qualifications.

  • Have you a minimum of a C in GCSE English and Maths?
  • Do you aspire to be an English Teacher in a Secondary School?
  • Have you some experience working with young people? Coaching, Tutoring, Care work, Youth Work, Overseas work.
  • Are you employed, work with young people and looking for a career change?

If the above applies to you then this could be just the break you need to kick start your dream of becoming a teacher. To clarify, this is open to both graduates and non graduates. Graduates don't need to have a degree in English, just a minimum of a C at GCSE level, with a desire to be an English Teacher.

Please email your CV ASAP. I will be looking for people to match the criteria outlined above. I will then call those applicants to speak about the opportunity, sending some more information and a short video.

There are lots of potential teachers out there who are just not getting a cost effective, practical, effective way of achieving their potential of becoming teachers. This could be the opportunity you have been waiting for!
