Are you football mad? Are you a crochet master? Can you make Tardis noises? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then you would be the best support worker so APPLY NOW!!

We are currently looking to expand our team of dedicated support workers in Luton where you will be supporting people who have a learning disability.

Of course you don`t need to have any of the above skills, but we do have 3 questions that we need a YES from for this role to be perfect for you:

  • Are you eager, enthusiastic and passionate?
  • Do you want to do a job where you can go home knowing that you have made a difference to someone`s day?
  • From your next job opportunity do you want award winning training, career progression and exceptional company benefits?

In our Luton service everyone has their own requirements but the type of support you will provide would be things such as shopping, cooking, eating and drinking, laundry, personal care, cleaning, finances, medication administration. You would also support them to organise activities and access the community to socialise and for leisure.

Being a support worker isn`t just about making day to day life great, it`s about creating days that are spectacular! Each day will be different but on a spectacular day you could be getting ice cream, visiting a Dr Who convention or even going to a brewery for a tour! Creating a spectacular day is just one of the amazing things you will do as a support worker.

The people we support have created one page profiles for you to read (see additional information) so you can get an idea about how to support them.

Support workers must be flexible in the hours they can work, as support can be required 24 hours a day. You will work on a rota basis throughout the week, weekends and bank holidays with sleep-ins as well.

One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.

An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
