Marketing Manager - South Manchester - £40,000 + Bonus
Fancy working with a bunch of super savvy marketing professionals in great offices in South Manchester? Well haven’t I got the perfect opportunity for you!
Parking on site, easy to get to location, just next to all the main commuting links AND a team and company that is growing at a ridiculous rate, so much so they’ve had to double the size of their offices to squeeze everyone in!
This is a brand new position for the company, it has been newly created to sit alongside the existing marketing team. You’ll head up a team of three to start with but with the growth plans they have in place this will grow pretty quickly. You’ll have two experienced exec’s reporting into you and between the three of you you’ll look after all things marketing for a number of high turnover brands.
In effect, it is like working for a marketing agency, the marketing team are there to drive business to 10+ ecommerce sites. Your team will be focused on their existing brands and websites whereas the existing team you’ll be working alongside are now going to be focused on bringing new websites to the market. All have different product ranges and that’s what makes this really interesting. There’s some common products and some not so common products. They move with the market, if there’s a new trend they are on to it. Because of this your work will be super varied, one day you could be writing about a 50 foot yacht, the next you could be putting together an email campaign to do with DJ’ing!
You’ll be in charge of the marketing plans and strategy behind their biggest ecommerce site, it is currently number 1 in the UK, if someone is going to buy this product they are most likely to buy it through this site. It will be down to you to plan and deliver everything from email campaigns, digital display adverts and banners, website updates and landing pages for this brand. There’s a fantastic team of designers who you will be working alongside, you’ll need to put together a creative brief and they are guaranteed to deliver. From here you’ll write the copy, you need to write to sell and that constantly needs to be at the forefront of your mind. One thing I must stress is that this role is content heavy, they have content execs sitting in their digital team but they focus on more editorial and educational content, all content for emails, adverts etc needs to come from you. You will get to know the brand inside out so are best placed to promote it. The sales cycle for each ecommerce site is ridiculously quick, you need to work out how to get someone to buy with the fewest clicks possible.
Your two direct reports will look after the marketing for 4 of their biggest sites, there’s 4 low touch sites which are looked after by one of the existing execs which you’ll oversee from time to time.
A big plus about this role is the partnerships they have in place, including some big name retailers and some famous faces, this makes the partner collateral you and the team will be putting together really interesting - you might even get to meet some of them! You’ll also work alongside their in-house digital team who look after all things SEO, PPC etc and be in charge of media spend and the management of their external media agency. It’s varied, it’s interesting, it’s fast paced, the offices are lovely, the views are green and most importantly the team is ace.
If this is you, you’re content heavy, have had experience controlling all aspects of marketing for brands or websites, have a little bit of team lead experience and want to work for a company who will be doubling their marketing team over the next year please get in touch ASAP!
