If so, we have a fantastic new role for a Head of Specialist Advisory, specifically focusing on Cancer Support Settings.
About the role - Head of Specialist Advisory - Cancer Support Settings
Everything that Macmillan does to address the needs of people with cancer is based on deep understanding of how to address those needs in a variety of settings. The Specialist Advisory Division is the engine-room which houses Macmillan’s knowledge of how to do this. Understanding of our key settings of primary care, cancer treatment and recovery, community, and end of life enable Macmillan to achieve long-term and lasting outcomes for people with cancer.
The work you will be accountable for will ensure the effective application of specialist knowledge against the delivery of policy strategy and prioritised programmes of work. You will be key in defining and implementing an approach that makes sure specialist advice is at the heart of Macmillan’s work and continues to be acknowledged and endorsed across the organisation as well as maintaining our external reputation as a thought leader and expert.
Reporting to the Director of Specialist Advisory, you will lead and manage a group of expert Specialist Advisors who have high profile internally and externally. You will ensure that our work to impact on needs is effective, at the cutting edge of innovation, and integrated across settings for maximum impact.
You will be a strong and influential leader who has a record of accomplishment within complex organisations and, specifically, credible knowledge across the health and social care sector. You may have experience working for national arms lengths bodies or held senior roles in healthcare commissioning within the NHS. Most importantly you will be able to influence at a senior level and will comfortably demonstrate experience of directly contributing to the development and delivery of organisational strategy.
At Macmillan, our ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer and inspire millions to do the same. We are a source of support: providing practical, clinical, emotional, and financial support. We are also a force for change: listening to people affected by cancer and working together to influence and lobby for better cancer care.
