Mechanical Design Engineer working for a well established automotive manufacturing company in Runcorn
Your new company
Your new company is a well established automotive manufacturing company based in Runcorn. They are large Tier 1 supplier that specialise in the design, development and manufacture of hydraulic control valves. Key clients are large OEMs and off-highway manufacturing companies. They are now looking to expand their design team with a mechanical design engineer.
Your new role
In your new role you will coordinate with other engineers to build and test prototypes and troubleshoot design flaws. You will be responsible for the design and analysis of hydraulic control valves using ProE and create engineering drawings. You will also play a big part in testing the products performing basic mechanical calculations. You will also be involved in managing the project as you will be assigned project engineer responsibilities, their will also be the opportunity to be a part of R&D and product development.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to have a degree in mechanical engineering and have a knowledge of hydraulic control systems.It is important that you have a good understanding of manufacturing processes and are able to contribute to solving production problems. You will need to be fluent in 3D CAD packages, ideally ProE. Experience of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. It also essential that you have experience using FEA.
