In order to satisfy the ever changing demands of it's key manufacturing partners, Solartron Metrology has introduced it's new range of Laser Triangulation products. Laser Triangulation units are fast becoming recognised as one of the most effective tools for linear measurements, bringing many benefits to industry users including high accuracy, resolution and speed, good repeatability and linearity along with longer measurement ranges. Alongside the benefits of greater accuracy and repeatability, the capability to take measurements with absolutely no contact can speed up the manufacturing process, creating time and cost-efficiencies, whilst providing the assurance of no damage to the target material.

Solartron Metrology provide end users with full linear measurement solutions, incorporating the ground-breaking technology of the Orbit® 3 Network to enable interaction between lasers and digital probes, and working alongside partners and customers.

Due to retirement, we are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the team.

Main Purpose of role -

To be responsible for the core transaction processing of the Finance department, including purchase ledger, cash books, credit control and sales invoices.

To provide telephone cover as required for the office area.

Main duties -

  • Purchase invoice and credit processing

    • Receipt of invoices and credits

    • Matching invoices to purchase orders within Navision

    • Posting of purchase invoices

  • Handling of purchase ledger queries with vendors and the purchasing department

  • In conjunction with the Financial Accountant, to select vendors for payment and generate the purchase payment proposal in GBP and foreign currencies

  • In conjunction with the Financial Accountant and Management Accountant, to generate the month-end invoice accruals.

  • Day to day maintenance of the cashbooks in GBP, USD, EUR, JPY and CHF

  • Ensure that cash books are reconciled to the bank accounts and posted to Navision

  • Raising of sales ledger invoices as required based on instructions from the shipping department

  • Raising sales credit notes as required based on authorised credit note requests from the sales order processing department

  • Perform Credit Control, working with the Financial Accountant to chase customer payments and ensure that customer accounts remain with credit terms.

  • Escalate customer collection issues to the Financial Accountant or Financial Controller as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of routine transaction processing within an office environment. Be used to working to month end and calendar deadlines and possess experience of Microsfot Office. Experience of Navision ERP eould be advantageous. They will possess the ability and desire to fit in and work as part of a small team, have a flexible approach to work and have excellent verbal and written communic ation skills.

This is a full time position, working 8-5 Monday to Thursday and 8-1 Friday. The role is based at our Head quarters in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. We offer a competitive salary, contributory pension, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) rising with service.
