Based in Derby my client are a large manufacturing company who supply products worldwide and are a leader in their field. This role is to continually improve the product and its delivery through the analysis of system and process results; liaising with suppliers on concerns relating to products and service and investigate root causes of these issues. Description

As the Supplier Quality Engineer you will continually improve the products and its delivery through the analysis of system and process results. You will also champion corrective or preventive action activity, both internally and externally, based on the above analysis and results. Representing quality in cross departmental teams and take an active role in the success of these projects. Providing shop floor support in terms of product quality to all areas of the business.

Main duties will include vendor selection; vendor management; non-conformance investigation and implementation of corrective action.

Due to this being a Supplier Quality Engineer position you will be expected to travel 50% of the time in which will be fully expense'd. There may also be overnight stays, overseas travel and some weeks away from home.

Profile

To apply for the position of Supplier Quality Engineer, based in Derby you will need to have:

  • Background experience gained within a similar position (Manufacturing Advantageous).
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills.
  • Able to use quality tools such as 8D etc.
  • Have the ability to monitor and maintain KPI's for vendors and participate in vendor approval.
  • Understanding of Quality systems including ISO9001.

Due to frequent travel, flexibility is a must have.

Job Offer

Days position paying £28,000 - £35,000 Depending on experience.
