1.0 Responsibilities

1.1 To maintain all production machinery.

1.2 To repair production machinery following breakdowns.

1.3 To carry out specific process development tasks as/when required.

1.4 To support the design, build/modification of new/existing manufacturing equipment as/when required.

Specific

1.5 To maintain production machinery and equipment in a safe, serviceable condition, including guard systems.

1.6 To repair production machinery and equipment in case of breakdown.

1.7 To ensure all safety and environmental regulations are adhered to, including housekeeping standards.

1.8 To support the department with planning and conducting the preventative maintenance programme.

1.9 To ensure all maintenance records are correctly maintained and regularly updated.

1.10 To maintain adequate stocks of spare parts, ordering/manufacturing components as required.

1.11 To liaise with sub-contractor for specialist service or repair.

1.12 To ensure that all production machinery and equipment is adequately guarded to the legal requirements.

1.13 To assist and support new product introductions, continuous improvement projects, kaizen events, special projects etc, as required.

1.14 To identify and implement machine and process improvements. (Changes to machinery or processes to be agreed with the Manufacturing Engineering Dept and validated accordingly).

1.15 Too support the design, build/modification and installation of new/existing manufacturing equipment as requested by the CE&M Manager, including visits to machine builders when required.

1.16 To liaise with other maintenance staff and/or shift supervisors at shift changeovers, communicating any machinery or equipment related issues and priorities.

1.17 Perform any other reasonable request, as deemed necessary by the CE&M Manager

Support Training

1.18 To support and assist the training of apprentice positions as required.

2.0 Skill/Qualification Requirements:

2.1 A recognised apprenticeship in an engineering or production environment.

2.2 Knowledge of Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.

2.3 4 years manufacturing experience.

2.4 Experience within a high volume production environment.

2.5 Knowledge of computerised diagnosis equipment to maximise production output.

2.6 Experience in common PC software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, etc.).

3.0 Other requirements

3.1 To ensure a good working relationship within the Maintenance Dept and across other departments, at all levels.

3.2 To report any matters that may affect the smooth running of the department to the CE&M Manager.

3.3 To contribute to department strategic and organisational discussions and decisions.

3.4 To participate and contribute in internal or external meetings as required.

3.5 To undergo training where required.

4.0 Personal Attributes:

4.1 Good communication skills

4.2 Driving Licence (preferably clean).

4.3 To work unsociable hours if required.
