Area Sales Manager - overview of role

Area Sales Manager required for a rapidly expanding company based on the South Coast in Poole. Reporting directly into the Managing Director, you will be responsible for a designated area (within 50 miles of Poole) and sales targets which incorporate both Company growth and the opportunity to increase your own personal earnings.

A superb opportunity for a business development professional to promote an exceptional service which accommodates individual bespoke orders obtained from chefs within a variety of catering establishments. This is an exciting role combining strategic account management with profitable Company growth.

We are looking for an additional Area Sales Manager who is both structured and driven in their approach to succeed and can demonstrate the ability to build relationships through appreciation of the skills and service required to win business. To be considered for this role you must have knowledge and experience of working within the food industry.

This sales role will involve focusing on generating new business selling to pubs, hotels, schools, nursing homes and the NHS. You will additionally have the opportunity to develop existing customer accounts and will work closely with the established sales office and Customer Sales Advisors who provide support and a backup service to both you and our customers.

You will be tasked with selling predominately fresh and frozen meats prepared to each customer’s bespoke instruction/s plus, a select variety of frozen and pre-prepared products. The Company has very ambitious growth plans and is constantly introducing products to accommodate customer enquiries in addition to exploring new opportunities in order to deliver exceptional customer service. You will typically communicate with Chefs, Catering Managers, Business Owners, Commercial Managers and Directors in a consultative based sales role.

You need to be self-motivated, organised and enjoy both winning and retaining business. Together with a drive to succeed and consistently achieve agreed targets, you must possess strong communication skills and be able to develop good working relationships with both customers and colleagues. Additionally, you will have great networking skills which focus on developing strong, long term relationships and partnerships with all clients.

THE PACKAGE:

Basic Salary: £25k+Bonus OTE £30-35k.
