The Research and Validation Group is recruiting a Senior Research and Validation Manager to carry out and coordinate a full range of research and validation activities related to Cambridge English examinations. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: Bilingual Education, Teacher Training and Development, English Language Assessment, Educational Assessment.
You will take responsibility for setting and implementing the research agenda and designing specific projects; conducting and supervising relevant test analyses; preparing reports for presentation and publication to various stakeholders. Although focusing on particular examinations and projects from the outset, you will be expected to be involved in other research and validation work as required.
You will join a highly qualified and experienced team in the Research and Validation Group responsible for the validation of the full range of Cambridge English examinations. It is essential that you have a Cambridge English relevant PhD (such as Linguistics) with strong quantitative and/or qualitative research elements. In addition to this the role requires significant post-doctoral work experience. Evidence of ability to design and carry out quantitative and qualitative research is required preferably with a focus on bilingual education or teacher training and development. You will have, or be prepared to develop, expertise in language testing.
You will need excellent communication skills for oral presentations and report writing, excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders. You should be able to show evidence of a high level of numeracy and strong analytical skills. Knowledge of a range of statistical software (such as SPSS) will be an advantage as will be familiarity with Cambridge English products and services.
Cambridge English validation work is highly specialized and training will be provided both in the first few months and as an ongoing feature of staff development throughout your career in Cambridge English.
