Our client is a leading UK-based consumer exhibitions company, holding an exciting portfolio of events throughout the year, from cycling to dance and contemporary art to travel. They are now seeking an ambitious and experienced Marketing Manager to join their fast-growing company and dynamic organisation.

Main Purpose of the Job:

Reporting into the Head of Marketing you will be expected to manage, plan and implement a targeted marketing campaign to engage relevant audiences, achieving targets set for quality, quantity and revenue from both visitors and exhibitors. Gain an in-depth understanding of the market and key unique propositions for the events. Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to include budgeting, and motivate and manage relevant team members and external resources (PR, design and print).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage the Marketing team

  • To network within the markets to gain industry knowledge and understand how to maintain a competitive edge in attracting audiences across exhibiting, sponsoring and visiting

  • To analyse previous campaigns and undertake research to understand the event and the audiences fully

  • To provide strategic insight into the development of the shows in both the short, medium and long term and produce the marketing budget with the Event Director

  • To plan and implement exhibitor sales marketing campaign in liaison with Sales Team

  • To produce sponsorship support material for the Sales Team and provide creative input into potential sponsorship agreements

  • To plan and implement visitor marketing campaigns including advertising, direct mail, sales promotions and partnerships, online, social media and PR campaigns

  • To develop and agree brief for team and relevant agencies and suppliers including; creative, ticketing, print and media buying and PR

  • To appoint and manage agencies and suppliers securing comparative, best- buy deals on an on-going basis

  • To produce marketing elements of the post-show report to highlight the effectiveness of the campaigns and to gain further insight into the events

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Consumer exhibitions experience (preferably in travel)
  • Ambition to grow and develop the events

  • Strong analytical marketing skills

  • Creative and strategic thinking

  • Strong organisational and negotiating skills

  • Good understanding of all marketing channels and in particular; e-marketing, direct marketing and research

  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage and motivate team (2 marketing executives)
