The skills

Organisational and time management skill. Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Analytical and creative in identifying opportunities to promote your product, looking always to raise the standard wherever you go. An interest to understand your clients' processes and needs and identify how your product can add value to their operation.

Project management skills

Able to set clear goals and targets and monitor progress to see through to realisation. Can prioritise workload and work well under pressure. Strong data analysis and note taking skills. Ability to work with spreadsheets and prepare presentations, reports and critical paths.

The Role

Manage a database of contacts across your sector and give regular updates of your performance to management and the team. Service existing accounts and increase sales activity through new product listings. Actively seek new business accounts and identify market opportunities. Obtain market intelligence relating to customer activity, market development, competitors and new initiatives. Recommend and prepare marketing material and activity in line with customer account objectives, market information and attracting new accounts. · Analyse sales performance and trends and provide sales forecasts. Plan and participate in both national and international sales exhibitions. Assist in setting promotions, range extensions and new product development initiatives.

Experience

Work experience must include one or more of the following: · Business to business sales in the food industry, with examples of personal wins. Product development or technical role in a food manufacturing company with an interest to move into sales. Work in a demanding role within the food industry with set targets and proof of achievement.

Requirements · UK driving license. · BA honours.
