The Company
My client is a young, fledging company within the premium end of the UK Foodservice Marketplace. The company has big plans for growth over the 24 months to more than double in size. They supply high quality artisan meat into Foodservice End User - predominantly Restaurants and Hotels. The role we are recruiting for is a New Business Development Manager focussing on the London area. In line with the growth plans comes succession planning, therefore the path for progression is very real and carries numerous opportunities for candidates with the right aspirations and capabilities to progress to Head of Sales.
The Role
As a New Business Development Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Selling the highest quality artisan meat into Foodservice End Users with a spend of in excess of £750 / week
  • 100% of your role will be focussed on New Business Development - generated from existing contacts you already have in your address book from your experience within the Foodservice Sales marketplace
  • Dealing with Buyers, Head Chefs, Exec Chefs, Directors, Owners
  • Working closely with the Directors of the business to drive sales
  • Full P&L responsibility for the accounts which come under your remit
  • Hitting your individual objectives whilst equally contributing to the team's goals and targets in terms of revenue and profitability

The Candidate

  • You MUST have experience selling Food into Foodservice End Users
  • You will be a Hunter - you will thrive on winning new business
  • Product is not important as can be taught - Meat, Cheese, Fish, Wine would all work
  • Most importantly you must be able to hold your own with High-Profile Chefs and be a real foodie
  • You must be tenacious and willing to apply the work ethic required to be successful
  • You will be incredibly driven and have the desire to work in a people-centric environment - you put in the hard work, you will get the support and rewards in return
  • You will live in and around London
  • All candidates must have a genuine passion for the industry
