The job:

Our Credit Risk function at Principality House are looking for an experienced SAS technician to lead the implementation of IFRS 9 SAS codes in to an upgraded SAS environment with a purpose of helping the Society to achieve compliance with IFRS 9 accounting standards. You will be implementing Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models from test phase into production with a go-live date of 1st January 2018. The successful candidate will also be tasked with creating efficiency savings in operating production codes and scheduled processes.

What you will do:

  • Implement and test IFRS 9 codes for multiple business units into upgraded SAS Enterprise Guide and thereafter up into Model Manager and to integrate with production data sources

  • Identify and map key data-feeds and troubleshoot process failings as part of testing

  • Re-engineer month-end processes to allow key IFRS 9 data inputs to be available

  • Fully automate code and employ task scheduling through SAS Design Studio

  • Ensure access to data is fully controlled and governed through use of Meta Data

  • Consider, develop and implement output files for use by end-users as part of IFRS 9 regulatory reporting - This may involve working with SAS packages VA and VAAR / or similar to set reporting templates

What we are looking for:

We are looking for the successful candidate to hold professional SAS qualifications and have previous project experience with SAS EG, EM, MM and Design Studio. You will be confident with managing stakeholder expectations and delivering project targets to strict deadlines (key stakeholders are likely to include Credit Risk, Finance, IT and Business Intelligence Management Information (BIMI)). Knowledge of financial services would be ideal but not essential.
