THE COMPANY: My client is a North - East based manufacturer of highly engineered precision industrial components and products that are sold to end users around the world. They can be used in military, oil, gas and other process/petro-chem based industries as well as a component in other manufacturer’s finished products where applications are safety critical and diverse. The company is part of a UK industrial conglomerate that has invested heavily in this country and has ambitious plans to grow the company substantially.

THE ROLE: Using a mixture of already established contacts and your own initiative to generate new business you will call on new and existing clients throughout the UK and W Europe. You will be expected to spend roughly one quarter of your time on the road within your specified territory (UK and Europe) and the remainder working from the Tyneside head office.

THE PERSON: You will ideally be an engineer with 3 - 5 years internal or external sales experience or be a well-trained sales professional who can demonstrate they are able to understand, explain and sell technical and sometimes highly complex, safety critical products and solutions. Furthermore, you will need to demonstrate a proactive approach to developing new business with both new and existing clients which will account for about 20% of your efforts and take responsibility for achieving pre-agreed targets. Commercial acumen and sales ability are ultimately as important as a technical background.
