Responsibilities: See below

1.0 Purpose:

To support the manufacturing department with an effective tool spares and maintenance service.

2.0 Responsibilities

2.1 To repair and /or maintain all production tooling.

2.2 To carry out specific process development tasks as/when required.

2.3 To support the design, build/modification of new/existing manufacturing tooling as/when required.

2.4 To support manufacturing in achieving customer satisfaction, quality and production output targets.

3.0 Specific

3.1 Ensure that production tooling is repaired and refurbished as necessary within the limits of the tool room capabilities.

3.2 Ensure sufficient stocks of in house manufactured spares are maintained including electrodes and welding blocks

3.3 Produce and repair manual-style welding jigs as requested.

3.4 Assist with maintaining the companies Tooling Register and ensure proper control of issuing tooling.

3.5 Assist with special projects as requested.

3.6 Liaise with Tooling design and process engineers on any suggestions for tooling and or/ jig design improvements.

3.7 Liaise with tooling supplies companies for supply of spare parts, stock material as necessary.

3.8 Highlight any matters which may affect the smooth running of the department.

3.9 Ensure Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times (i.e. safety shoes, safety glasses,ear protection where appropriate).

3.10 Ensure the company’s Quality Manual and Procedures are complied with.

3.11 Ensure machinery and work area are kept clean and tidy at all times.

3.12 To support and assist the training of apprentice positions as required.

4.0 Skill/Qualification Requirements:

4.1 Served a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.

4.2 NVQ level 3Engineering machining.

4.3 Ability to operate basic Toolroom machinery.

4.4 Can read engineering drawings.

4.5 Flexible attitude.

5.0 Other requirements

5.1 To ensure a good working relationship within the Maintenance personnel and across other departments, at all levels.

5.2 To contribute to department strategic and organisational discussions and decisions.

5.3 To participate and contribute in internal or external meetings as required.

5.4 To undergo training where required.
