Our client is a local solicitor firm with over ten local branches across North London and surrounding areas.

Established for over four decades they have grown from a small office to one of North London’s most prominent firms with a large team of fully qualified and highly trained solicitors covering all aspects of law. They are part of the local community and are exceptionally well regarded, being known for their professional yet friendly approach. They pride themselves on their ability to maintaining long term relationship with their clients who regard the firm as their family solicitor. A new opportunity has opened for a Family Solicitor based in their Edmonton office. This will be a fantastic chance for someone who wants to develop their potential, be trained and who can show ambition.

Required Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Law degree (or equivalent GDL degree) - Essential

  • Successful completion of the LPC - Essential

  • 2 years PQE as a family Solicitor - Essential

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • To provide clear and comprehensive advice to clients and to progress the clients cases smoothly to completion

  • To ensure the conduct of your client files are in accordance with this firm’s internal professional conduct and accounts rules and obligations

  • To attend upon clients

  • Interviewing clients, taking instructions, identifying appropriate funding, including public funding, keeping detailed file notes of instructions received, advice given and any other attendances upon clients and other parties

  • Provide written, telephone and office costs estimates and quotes to Prospective clients/ Introducers with a full breakdown of costs and disbursements as requested

  • To confirm advice in correspondence, telephone calls, attendance notes

  • To prioritise workload to meet all deadlines agreed with clients or any other party involved in the case

  • Drafting applications to the court and other court documents

  • To actively progress the client’s matter promptly to conclusion

  • Responding promptly and accurately to requests for information concerning case work from Partners, Supervisors and fee-earners

  • To carry out own advocacy matters

  • To maintain accurate billing records by recording time appropriately and to prompt bill clients for work conducted

  • To comply with all statutory requirements, where necessary

  • To keep abreast of all legal developments in the Fee Earner’s sphere of practice and defer to expert third party advice where appropriate

  • To act as an ambassador/promoter of the firm

  • To meet performance targets set

Salary: Up to £35,000 depending upon experience
