Excellent opportunity to join one of Birmingham's leading University's Finance teams as their Financial Systems Manager. This role is due to internal promotion and my client are looking to on-board somebody as soon as possible, ideally from a further education institute.

You will be responsible for the following: -

Carry out all aspects of finance systems implementation and development.

Develop and manage interfaces with other University systems.

Consistently review processes which feed into financial systems identifying areas for improvement and taking action on changes.

Carry put systems management, data integrity routines and system administration.

Review and manage system performance. Provide regular reports and analysis to the finance senior management team on key performance and value for money indicators for the system.

Manage incidents, service requests and customer support via a help desk.

Test, implement and provide ongoing support of updated / new applications, test upgrades, corrective packages and patches.

Maintain the Chart of Accounts, reporting standards, protocols, validation security and data integrity rules and report on changes and developments.

Work with the Head of Financial systems and the wider finance team to deliver training and provide guidance and support for system users across the University including:

Developing and delivering training

Brokering external training where appropriate

Documenting systems and maintaining the Finance Systems Procedure Manual

Work on business systems development projects supporting the implementation and roll out of systems across the University.

Manage systems management and housekeeping functions to ensure the integrity and optimisation of the system.

Work with colleagues in IT services to establish and maintain business continuity procedures.

Assist in the production of the University's audited financial statements at year-end.

Manage the daily reconciliation of output from the University's financial systems.

The new system that is being implemented is Oracle, therefore ideally you will possess Oracle experience.
