Hays is proud to be partnered with a well-established and stable financial services organisation seeking an Accounts Preparer to join their Client Support and Accounts Team. This vacancy is permanent due to an internal promotion.
Your new role
Working within the Accounts Team of 7 alongside the Bookkeeping Team, you will be responsible for preparing the financial statements and sets of accounts for a range of clients; the department deals with around 350 Trust, partnership and company clients with regards to share plans, pension plans and private equity funds. Further to this you will oversee and assist with annual audits, responding to any related queries promptly with required evidence and information. You will also ensure the cost of producing financial statements will remain within budget targets agreed with clients, and report if this is unlikely to occur in a timely manner along with evidence detailing reasons for this. In addition to members of the Bookkeeping Team, individuals you will liaise with are those from the Administrative Team and IT Department, and Client Relationship Managers. Other ad-hoc tasks may include assisting with implementing a new accounting software.
What you'll need to succeed
As a Part-Qualified Accountant at the early stages of your professional qualification, you will have experience preparing sets of accounts for multiple clients or entities, preferably within an accounting or bookkeeping services environment. You will have strong interpersonal skills coming across as approachable and a team player. You will be inquisitive, asking questions and not assuming or accepting of all information. This role requires a passion for accounts and the motivation to investigate and improve with strong working knowledge and understanding of Excel.
