Full Time
Prospero Teaching are working alongside SEN Primary and Secondary Schools in Hounslow, West London, as well as surrounding areas, seeking Qualified Teachers to work in SEN schools.

We work with primary and secondary schools which specialise in a range of areas, including autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and more. We also have positions in centres such as PRUs, nurseries and hospital schools for the right teachers. Our schools look for teachers with a range of experience, including teachers on UPS and NQTs alike. If you are someone with experience in Makaton or BSL, we work alongside schools which specialise in provision for children with hearing impairments and speech difficulties.

We seek teachers who take a dynamic approach to teaching and learning, and are able to adapt to the individual needs of a range of SEN students. An enthusiasm for encouraging the progress of these children is essential. Current mainstream teachers who are looking to move into working with SEN students are encouraged to apply, especially if they have encountered needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder in their work.

Due to the wide range of schools we work with, we are able to make a justified match between you and your prospective employer. No more wasted visits to schools which you are not suited to, we know our schools in depth and after you come in to register, we will put you forward to SEN schools where your talents will be properly utilised and where you have the best chance of success.

The ideal candidate will have QTS and experience in a SEN setting. If you have a specialism in a certain area of SEN education, such as Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) provision, this is of course a bonus. Candidates with QTS who have experience in hospital based schools or residential care units are greatly encouraged to apply.

As per many SEN schools, you will find yourself working with a wide range of support staff, all committed to the progress and well-being of students. This includes Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language, Physio and Occupational Therapists.

As a SEN teacher, you will be required to plan and deliver excellent lessons, ensure and assess the progress of all students, differentiate your teaching according to the individual needs of each student, work with support staff and other teachers and uphold the values and ethos of the school.

We have positions starting immediately, as well as September 2017 starts, all for the right candidates! Applicants should have:

* A genuine passion for teaching and learning
* Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
* Previous experience in a teaching post - ideally in a SEN school
* Ability to contribute to a forward-thinking ethos
* An optimistic outlook and the skills to encourage students
* Ability to tap into a student's imagination and expand upon sensory tools
* Good classroom management

Job description below:

* Helping pupils to develop their confidence, independence, abilities and attitudes

Once registered, our team of experienced SEN consultants will be on hand to help you maximise your appeal to prospective employers, thus helping you secure your dream position.
