An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated and dynamic individual to join the medical team at my client in Derby. The hospital is located on London Road which is close to the city centre but also offers excellent transport links via the M1.

The client are proud of their recent nomination in the National Patient Safety Awards, they offer a range of therapies to women with dyslexia, mild autistic spectrum disorder and other mild learning disabilities. They also engage with those who may have had previous problems with drugs, behavioural and self-harm issues or spent time within the criminal justice system. The facilities for male service users are geared towards dual or multiple diagnoses, while our step-down unit is a well-equipped, safe environment for those who are getting ready to leave care.

We are seeking to recruit a committed Speciality Doctor / Associate Specialist who will work on the Ward, a purpose built but well-established ward offering care and treatment for 19 men with Service users have primary diagnosis of Mental Illness and a secondary diagnosis of Substance Misuse or personality issues.

You will be primarily responsible for in-patient care delivery, including 1:1 work as required. You will have good clinical knowledge and skills. You will need to be a team player, yet able to use your own initiative and be able to contribute effectively to service development.

Good communication and organisational skills are essential, as is a minimum of 18 months psychiatric experience. Experience of Locked rehabilitation or forensic desirable but not essential. You must have GMC registration and you will be supported in obtaining Section 12(2) approval if necessary and MRcPsych Exams Post Graduate experience preferable but not required.

Yearly Increment available 1 in 3 Weeks on Call included in Wages. On Call does not include out of hours admissions.
