We are currently working with a great company who are now eagerly wanting to appoint a strong buying person to take responsibility for all of our clients procurement needs. Our client are a large and expanding business located in luxury offices just off the M1, very close to Chesterfield.
The role will require the following;
Be responsible for sourcing new product and existing product range accurately and competitively
Ensure that product meets the buying specification and delivery times from our suppliers
Work with our Quality Assurance team to ensure that delivered product meets required standards liaising with buyers, suppliers and distributors
Control of stock levels
Liaising with our Sales Team to source product outside of standard catalogue ranges
What will you need:
The candidate must have a proven track record in negotiation and buying and ideally have experience within the industry. Experience in dealing with production in China, the Far East and other countries, together with the necessary knowledge of logistics and importation would be a distinct advantage, along with possible experience of buying within the engineering sector.
Additionally, the ability to research the market for new supply chain partners to support and develop our current product range would be equally important.
The candidate should also possess a strong commercial awareness and have the desire to progress at this well established company and to contribute to its continuing success.
Our client needs some-one with excellent IT and office skills to compliment the above, which includes fulfilling work on SAGE and also Excel daily.
The working week is Monday - Friday 08.30 - 5pm, great company, great location - possessing easy access to surrounding Motorway links.
