Our client is a local solicitor firm with over ten local branches across North London and surrounding areas.

Established for over four decades they have grown from a small office to one of North London’s most prominent firms with a large team of fully qualified and highly trained solicitors covering all aspects of law. They are part of the local community and are exceptionally well regarded, being known for their professional yet friendly approach. They pride themselves on their ability to maintaining long term relationships with their clients, who regard the firm as their family solicitor. They also pride themselves on creating a happy and supportive environment for their staff.

They are now seeking an experienced Private Client fee earner to join its team responsible for dealing with a broad range of matters relating to Wills, Probate, Tax and Trust work. This will be a fantastic chance for someone who wants to develop their potential, be trained and who can show ambition.

Required Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Law degree (or equivalent GDL degree) - Essential

  • 3 years PQE - Essential

  • Experience of Probate and Estate Administration - Essential

  • Fellow of CILEx - Desirable

  • STEP Qualified - Desirable

  • SFE membership - Desirable

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • To manage an agreed case load of clients, providing appropriate advice and assistance in accordance with professional standards and internal quality requirements relating to:

    • Drafting wills

    • Drafting Lasting power of attorney or other legal documents

    • Dealing with Trusts, Banks and other Companies

    • Dealing with Probate & Administration of Estate work

  • To process cases on a timely and cost effective basis and in accordance with professional standards and internal quality requirements

  • To ensure that billing takes place promptly and that outstanding balances are collected as soon as feasible

  • To provide written, telephone and office costs estimates to Prospective clients/ Introducers with a full breakdown of costs and disbursements as requested

  • To develop and maintain good client and commercial contact relationships and enhance the firm’s client base by effective liaison with existing clients and Introducers

  • To achieve all individual financial costs targets

  • To maximize the firm’s potential to cross - sell services by identifying appropriate opportunities

  • To lead and supervise the team by providing coaching and support as and when required

  • To use the correct procedures and systems in order to manage cases effectively and in accordance with the firm’s standards and legal requirements

  • To manage own work allocation, productivity and quality of work with minimum supervision

  • To meet performance targets set

Salary: Up to £45,000 + benefits depending upon experience
