Is a Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Consultancy with a growing Building Services department, with offices across the UK the Glasgow office benefits from both Local and National projects.
Your new role
Ideally this role is suited to a candidate operating at Principal Mechanical Engineer level or approaching that status. You will report to the Building Services Director and be the most senior Mechanical Engineer in the team. You will be expected to interact with colleagues too achieve engineering design solutions to the clients brief, taking responsibility for the delivery of projects within time, quality and budgets.
The role will demand applicants to have impressive Mechanical Design experience, ideally gained working for a Building Services consultancy and delivering mechanical designs for projects related to Commercial, Residential, Retail and Education sectors. In addition to design responsibilities their is a requirement for you to be involved in thermal modelling, project management, resource management, site surveys, report writing, costing, client liaison and staff development.
The position demands the ability to manage a team of Mechanical Engineers, ensuring that they have the opportunity to develop and improve their contributions to projects. The role also requires the ability to work across different departments and communicate effectively with clients, architects, vendors and contractors.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have experience delivering Mechanical Designs within a Building services environment, ideally with a consultancy. The position will put pressure on your ability to undertake calculations, production of drawings and use of design software such as Revit, IES, SBEM, AutoCAD or Hevacomp.
Our client expects candidates to have experience managing projects and deadlines, ideally across a variety of sectors such as Retail, Commercial, Residential and Education. In addition your experience should also include staff management and development, client liaison, strong communication skills, proposal and report writing.
