Reed has the pleasure in recruiting a Lead Waking Night Support Worker for a Specialist College for young adults with ASD, MLD, SLD and Complex Needs in Brighton.

Reporting to the NIght Care Manager you will be responsible for promoting the rights of residents to be treated with dignity and respect in every aspect of their lives. You will enjoy establishing a strong relationship with residents and encourage the development of stable relationships between residents, staff, friends, families and other residents and peers within the College. You will support these young adults in making their own choices whilst protecting them from harm by being vidgulent, observing and noting changes in behaviour or appearance and following the College's Safeguarding policy.

This role is residential and you will remain awake at all times during your shift through the night.  You will assist with self-care and independence skills including eating, drinking, washing, bathing, dressing, administering medication and assisting with toileting.

You will have a good eye for detail and participate in the assessment, development and implementation of programmes aimed at enabling residents to manage challenging behaviour.

You will manage a team of Support Workers under the direction of the Night Manager ensuring all shifts are covered and the Night Team are awake and working efficiently and safely.

Training and development is regular at this SEN provision and you will be fully inducted and trained prior to starting with this well-run organisation.

This opportunity requires the candidate to have GCSE English, Maths and ICT (or equivalent)
Hands-on care/healthcare experience - min 2 years
