Lead Registered Gynaecology Nurse

Reports to: Head of Treatment
Terms: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: London

My client who is a private clinic/hospital is looking for an active and ambitious NMC Registered Nurse who is keen to learn and progress in their career.
This role requires an exceptional and 5* level of care to patients and their families in the private sector. Ideally, you will be a good communicator who is able to work well as part of a team.


  • Assess, plan, document and deliver professional care to meet patients and families needs
  • Administer prescribed medications
  • Order appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, evaluate and record the results
  • Demonstrate good clinical practice and to be accountable for own actions
  • Contribute to research based care and other proactive development initiatives
  • Contribute to the setting of clinical standards, policy and procedure
  • Be a strong communicator
  • Supervise and direct junior staff where necessary
  • Respect and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Maintain skill and knowledge in using various medical devices such as Electronic foetal monitors, defibrillators, Suction pumps and other Gynae unit instruments
  • Educate patients and families regarding breast feeding, newborn care, C-section care etc
  • Follow all policies and protocols of the hospital with limited variations
  • Maintain skills and knowledge by participating various nurse education programs, seminars, staff meetings, workshops and other online nurse education programs.
  • Experience of gynaecological procedures such as colposcopy etc. to assist doctors


  • Registration qualification & appropriate experience to specialty being recruited to - NMC Registered Nurse (RN/Adult)
  • Understanding of the NMC code of professional conduct
  • Strong Gynaecology clinical experience
  • Proficient in all aspects of medical and surgical nursing
  • Eligible to work within the UK
  • Subject to DBS checks
  • Evidence of relevant courses/ experience
  • Understanding of professional and current issues in adult nursing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of outpatient processes and procedures
  • Able to adapt to ensure achievement of objectives within constantly changing situations and environments
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate in a sensitive, sympathetic manner with tact and understanding of patients` needs
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • Ability to plan and prioritise care for patients


  • Degree or diploma in healthcare
  • Substance misuse experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and national care standards
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance
  • Experience of current clinical software
  • Experience of using electronic patient records
  • Good IT skills
  • Outpatient department experience
  • Flexibility in working hours
