Hours of work: 8 hour shifts from 0500 approximately 36 - 40 hours per week to include some weekends. We are a small team so flexibility is essential.
Job Summary: Skilled baker producing many different lines of artisan breads and pastries including some cakes, tarts, biscuits and savouries. Everything will be produced from scratch with traditional methods and processes and all shaped by hand and sold from the shop.
Essential skills and experience: Ideal candidates will have experience in artisan bread baking or the catering industry, but full training is available for the right person without prior experience. Must be able to work unsupervised in a physically demanding yet highly rewarding role.
Responsibilities: Managing and carrying out bread and cake production when on shift. Adhering to our recipes and methods Weighing and mixing of all bread doughs. Rotating and ordering of stock. Responsible for writing the daily production schedule and carrying it out to the highest of standards on time and with no wastage. Maintaining quality control at all times Attention to detail. Communicating with the shop team regarding customer orders. Talking to customers about processes and ingredients as required. Maintaining a high level of cleanliness in your work area. Working the ovens and cleaning down at the end of your shift. The business has had a big influx of investment in plant and machinery in the last few months and we need a skilled baker to fulfil our new current potential.
