Solo Rail Solutions are looking for a Project Quality Engineer to work as part of a project team to support new project introduction. This role will provide the opportunity to grow into a role taking charge of a small team of quality personnel within a medium sized engineering business which supplies the rolling stock industry. Working to maintain and improve the Management system in accordance to ISO 9001, BS EN 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 over four sites.

Duties include;

General day to day adherence of ISO 9001/BS EN ISO14001 and BS OHSAS18001 management system requirements and other IRIS based requirements requested by the client.

Create and maintain project quality plan and project inspection/test plan

Contribute to the operation of FMEA/PMFEA process

Contribute to the creation and management of KPI's across project areas.

Manage, organise and communicate all project quality requirements

Customer liaison of any complaints and corrective action, 8D responses

To manage the first article inspection process and customer parts approval using our Visual Fair System

Managing all customer correspondence and relating to part approval

Promoting quality requirements and performance improvement across the organisation including training of production staff in the quality requirements of the project

Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and rail specific standards as applied by the client/project.

Maintaining procedures and documentation relating to procedures.

Contribute to the ongoing development of the QMS to support continuous improvement of the business

Writing monthly project quality reports.

Pinpointing relevant quality-related training needs.

Supply Chain Management

Working closely with purchasing staff to establish supplier quality performance criteria and monitor supplier performance

Communicating with suppliers regarding quality issues

Setting up a program for supplier audits

Liaison Activities

Liaising with other managers and staff, particularly in areas such as design, production and purchasing

Liaising with production to determine inspection requirements for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers specifications.

Hours are:

Monday - Thursday 7.30am-4.30pm

Friday - 8am-1.30pm
