Have you got what it takes to help us change lives for the better? As our new Pupil Liaison Officer, you’ll be putting your skills to work for vulnerable children and young people.

We are Witherslack Group, the UK’s leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with challenging and complex special educational needs. Right now, we’re growing fast and determined to make a difference to even more young lives. For that, we need to bring a Pupil Liaison Officer into our team. It’s a brand new role where you’ll be supporting pupil referrals and admissions at our outstanding specialist school. In short, you could play a pivotal role in improving their lives.

As the main link between parents, the local authority, the school and the wider school community, your negotiation expertise and pin-sharp co-ordination skills will ensure referrals and placements are handled not just sensitively, but also accurately. If conflicts arise, you’re there. Acting as a mediator, and encouraging resolutions will mean outstanding care and education is available for another child or young person. Furthermore, your ability to deal with enquiries, arrange admission interviews and handle administration will also ensure key information is shared between all relevant parties.

This is an exciting opportunity to help children and young people get the best possible start in life. Whilst we’re looking for someone with relevant experience dealing with adults and children, what will really set you apart is your ability to build solid relationships. Your ability to empathise with how parents feel, whilst also showing a real understanding the views of our schools and head teachers will set you in good stead. Good listening skills are therefore vital, along with a calm, collected and approachable nature. With IT and admin skills plus GCSE grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent), you’ll also maintain accurate records with your solid eye for detail.

Our level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. Through our inspirational homes, schools and ethos, we’ve achieved the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re creating life opportunities where none existed before.

We know you’re going to do great things. So we’ll reward you with a competitive salary, contributory pension (matched up to 5%), comprehensive induction and ongoing training, 35 days holiday (including bank holidays), Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Kia preferential Affinity Scheme, Merlin Entertainment discounts, Cycle to Work and tax-free childcare vouchers.
